I didnt know that either! When I had my 350 I looked at a set of used ones and that never crossed my mind. What all is diff on a 350 to a 450? I know gears and wheels but wonder what all is diff.

just checked the specs on the website. i knew my 450 had 10 studs but wasnt sure if it came with my 14500# option. but the site confirms that the 450 has 10 and 350 has 8

maybe a set of adapters? but Ive always been afraid of using adapter for fear of compromising the capacity of the truck and losing wheels at the studs during hauling something heavy

aside from the greater gvw. the front end has a wider track, it only comes with the 6.4, crew cab and long bed. a visibly larger rear end and ring gear (the rear looks like a medium duty trucks rearend). available lower gear ratios down to 4.88. and when i test drove the 350 vs the 450 the 450 had a harsher ride. and the 350 road much like my 3500 GMC that i traded. but i think this is due to the plow package that my 450 has and the 350 didn't. and it feels like its about 800# heavier than the 350 that i test drove. maybe even heavier than that bc there was a difference in rearend ratios between the two (id have to check back to the specs on the web site to confirm)

off the top of my head thats all i can remember from when i was weighing it out before purchasing.

BTW i got the 450 bc i liked the wheels better than the 350. it was really the deciding factor, that and the front fender flairs look really neat.

Bill

On my 06 dually, I used a set of 19.5 Brentz Classic's (direct fit 19.5x6.75) with Michelin xde+2 265/70r19.5 tires, no spacers/adaptors etc, and had 3/8" of clearance between the rear wheels/tires and used a 2 1/2" leveling kit on the front

I installed a pair of 22.5 on my F350 . Had to pull back the fender liners in the front and shift the box back to get even spacing. did no suspension changes. I tow my 36' 5th wheel camper with no problems. Would I do it again prob. not. It looks awsome but is ALOT of weight added to the truck.Got them from american force.

if you are loading heavy or towing heavy. you may want a little more than 3/8" bc you may but the side walls and see some wear on them. this would be bad bc it will lead to a side wall blow out
