Spartan 275 and Dana 80= No good

Well last wednesday night I went to take off from a stop light an all my truck did was rev up and i was going nowhere except roll backwards. I stop then try it again only this time i got grindage and a nice little pop sound. I figured it was my tranny at first but i flipped it into 4wd and off i went. I get my truck home and was welcomed by a split rear cover. I got a chance to take the cover off this weekend and all of my spiders in my diff grenaded. All broke into 1 and 2 teeth chunks. Im soooo upset cause ford wont warrenty it. Anyone else have any problems with their rearend? By the way my truck is a 2008 duallie with a 10 inch lift on 40's and has less than 18000 mi.

What reason did they give for not covering under warranty? Did you put it back to stock?

Exactly. They said cause it is lifted and the size of the tires was the only reason. I have not brought it to the dealer yet just made some calls to get a feel for what they will say. I could take it back to complete stock (remove the lift and such) but thats a waste of time and money. I could probably get away with taking it in on 35's but that might draw the question of why there is a 10in lift and only 35 inch tires. I dont know what to do. Try to warranty it or throw stronger parts at it and wait for the next weakest link to break.

my friend had a local dealer tell him if he brought his truck in with the stock wheels and tires on it they would warranty it. might try it all they can say is no.

I would upgrade it. even if ford did warranty it, it would only be a matter of time before you destroyed it again.

i wouldnt expect ford to warranty it, thats the price you pay to play the big tire big power game. I'd get a detroit true trac, and call it a day
