That is where things get simple to use the magnusson moss act. All dealerships here will install a superchip and cover it under warranty. Why is it if I push the buttons it is not covered? As far as the act goes, you as a person do not want to take on ford, but a call to superchip, edge , amsoil or whomever the aftermarket parts are through will usually make a call to ford and a letter of i intent will be written. I can go to a dealership and buy a f350 with a 6in lift and the tranny is still covered with oversized tires on it. My brother has an 04 f250PSD. There was a leak coming from the back of the engine, so he takes it to Lou Grubb Ford in PHX. The truck has an edge juice with attitude in it. B4 the service writer even gets in the truck he drills him about " That Thing" on your pillar. My bro tells him and he rips into his speel about the warranty and such. I show up in the middle of that conversation, My brother look of fright of "now what this is going to cost" closes in over his face. I look at the writer and say " If you can Prove to me and that programmer caused this leak I will pay for it, But until then you will be fixing it and can I please have the number to your area manager"? His tone change and all was covered without anymore discussion. Mind you the truck of course was one of the famed 6.0's. I sure as hell didn't see anywires going to the rear main seal You are right though they will do anything to not have to cover repairs on these diesels. We pay close to or over 50K for these trucks, and this is what we deal with |

I would just like to add that I have a 2003 F350 6.0L 4x4 dually. Its at the dealer right now. It has a cold weather problem. They have reprogramed it and replaced two injectors. They hope this will fix it, but not sure till they install the last injector (they one had one in stock). My truck also has a edge juice with attitude box and 4" pipes and K&N Airad system on it. I figured I would have a hell of a time getting them to cover this under warranty, but they never even said a word. Just told me that all would be covered. I guess I lucked out.

it's pretty much up to the dealer and individual tech if they want to cause problems or not. i dont personally give anybody a hard time for aftermarket components unless they clearly damaged a ford part or are the actual problem. one example would be a lift installed by the customer in his driveway and now wants suspension noises covered under warranty. some dealers will go out of the way to screw people though and unless you feel like going to court it's best to just find a better dealership. |

Gale couldnt figure his way out of a water paper bag without a whole team of engineers to tell him where to tear.
