just to clearify this was in '97, I stopped going to that dealership and drove an extra 15 minutes to a Jeep dealer that sponsored Blue Mountain Jeep Alliance where you buy modded /tricked out Jeeps off their lot, where if they install the aftermarket part they even warranty that... hhhmmmm need to see if we can get a Ford dealership to grow the balls to do the same!!

We have a Ford dealership here in alaska that sells trucks that have after market accessories and the are still covered under warranty. I am going to take a ride out on tuesday to see if they have any 08's yet. If they do I will take some pics to post on here.

Wow sounds like Ford has a real scare campaign going on hahaha. As I said before, i'll stick with my 7.3 for the moment.

Well, it's good we can still rebuild our older ones for now. Maybe they will be nice (yeah, right) and authorize production of parts for years to come like they did for the Mustang. Are OBS' considered antiques or classics?

Bring up the fact of the magnusson act. This act allows aftermarket companies to exist without dealerships dening warrenty work. Case in such, you use amsoil synthetic motor oil that may not be API certified and a crankshaft bearing goes south. The dealership and manufacture cannot deny work because of the oil. Same goes for a liftkit, bigger tires, exhaust, or intake. You will have to push the issue but you will win. I have been there done that. Infact they cannot deny work for a programmer either. The only way they can deny work is if they can without a doubt prove that that aftermarket part caused said part to fail.

Fords stance on this seems to be that they will be going out of their way to void warranties and deny claims based on ANY aftermarket equipment. they have made that very clear to us at the dealerships and in classes.
while you may have a valid point with the magnusson moss act you need to keep in mind that ford has far more money than a consumer and can easily afford to waste time in court while the average customer can not.
