6.4 southbend 3250 dual disk clutch
Fellas,
As some of you guys know about 25000 miles ago I installed a 3250 dual disk in my 6.4. well I liked the clutch as far as it not slipping and stuff but it caused my truck to axle wrap real bad and might as well forget about backin up a trailer. since installation of the clutch i had a pretty rough vibration at about 75 miles an hour then last saturday i go to park the truck in a parking spot and i clutch it to stop and it keeps goin... well at the time i didnt think much of it and i parked it and went on. well later on when i came back out of the store i went to start it up and it took off with me holding the pedal down. so tonight i get it into my shop and start to tearing it apart thinking it was probably a throw out bearing. well to my suprise it wasnt it appears the plastic dampners in th clutch disc have melted. it melted all over the clutch discs and the intermediate plate and the fly wheel. fellas this truck as been babied with this clutch I drive this thing back and forth to work so i am not hard on this truck at all. I was hoping you guys could give me some insight on what might have caused this.. also i read that these plastic dampners are new design from southbend. well any thought or info would be great I sure hope southbend will help me out with this..
Thanks
Drew
