banks air ram problem

ok my gf took her truck in for an oil change and her cup holder that broke. and well the day before she got a check engine light and well the dealer said it was because it was of the banks air ram that was causing the map sensor to throw a check engine light. is there anyway i can check it my self because it keeps coming back on or do i need to replace the map sensor? thanks for the help.

Pretty much any CAI is gonna generate that P2002 code which is what your GF got when the CEL tripped. I get it all the time usually a little while after a regen.

You need some sort of reader that plugs into the OBDII port to allow you to view or clear it. Not sure if the local AutoZone's or PepBoys carry it. but they may have one they can plug in for you to see.

Not true I have S&B intake never any codes at all. But I do agree with the rest get a reader at the local auto store and plug it in the obd port. But I can tell you the dealer isnt telling you stories its the banks causing it. many people have the same issue.

S&B is the only intake on the market that will not throw a CEL, even though there are a few cases where even an S&B has thrown a code.

Banks...

I've got an '08 Job 1 6.4 and my previous S&B CAI threw far more P2002's than my current Banks CAI - ask S&B; they're aware of the problem. It's the trucks, not any particular CAI.

Send a message via AIM to TwinTurboStroker
It all depends on the truck, but in the end the problem is regen mode and the DPF. You turn off regen and remove the DPF and you can run any intake your heart desires
