Can these be installed and not set off the SES/CEL/MIL?

And the advantage to these are to prevent the coolant from cracking the block first off and second is the crap exhaust back into the plenum?

How covert are these? Yes, I'm worried about warranty.

I removed and bypassed the EGR on my MB Diesels.

Mine set off a CEL. It is not a hard code though, so it just caused the light and nothing else. Spartan charges $25 per tune for the EGR delete plates to get rid of the code. The advantage of the plates is to close of the EGR valve completely, which prevents any soot from getting through, and it blocks off the cooler, which prevents destruction if it were to bust and leak water into your engine. They are just 2 plates that go in between the EGR piping. If you had EGR warranty work done, then yes they would be noticed, but other than that they aren't super noticeable.

Okay badass, I'll have to order these and toss them in the corner until I order up the Spartan on-road tune.

Since EGR will be blocked, I see no issues to arise from it that will necessitate warranty work. Worst case, I'd just yank them back out.

Better mileage with these block off plates? What's the cost?

$30 USD I think I saw on their site. Cheap for what you get, no hassle install.

There is no mileage increase, but there is safety along with lower EGT's. You get saftey if the EGR cooler were to bust. That could cause some serious damage to the motor, water and diesel engines dont mix real well
