Seeking Advice Please
i have been crusing the boards here for a little while I am interested increasing my MPg on my new 6.4. I am currently only seeing aprox. 12.5 on the HWY. Yes the truck is new 1100 miles. Any feed back and in a good order would be great.
I see all the replies about the programers for power and the Exhaust mods but I am mainly looking for max fuel miliage. thanks in advance for any help. Wilseya. |

thats about right for a non modded truck... only way to get that higher is by taking off the DPF and turning off the regen... but this will void your warranty if ford finds out and is tech illegal... if your not ready to do that then i would leave it how it is

Thanks Raul,
How about Cal emissions? do they actually do test here in Ca? |

If you want to get better fuel mileage you gotta get rid of the DPF like Raul stated above. There are 3 tested and proven options out there right now. Spartan, SCT, and the Edge Race Evolution. Spartan is proven the best currently, with the SCT custom tuned by River City Diesel close behind. All of this requires the removal of the DPF of course, which puts you at jeapordy of losing your warranty and/or getting caught on the highway and recieving and hefty hefty fine.
You can get around the dealership though. Many people that have dealerships that frown on mods will put the truck completely back yo stock before returning to the dealership. Other people are fortunate enough to have a mod friendly dearler that looks the other way. You can get around it pretty easily, just depends on how much work your willing to do to get warranty work I guess.... |

to answer your question... yes... we will be required to do emissions testing starting next year on any diesel truck 98+

If you list your location, I bet some locals will let you know the "mod friendly" dealers in your area.
