longevity
Hey guys I have a 6.4 PSD with the spartan 275 tune and I am a little nervous as to its effects on the longevity of my truck...I really really want to keep running it because its the setting I get the best mileage on but I really dont want to be paying huge money to keep the thing on it feet 100,000 miles from now. Do you think the 275 is gonna be problem for my truck in the long run?

no one can really say for sure because the 6.4's haven't been around too long but several people have hit 50,000 miles with the 275 with zero issues. so far it looks good

saw on another thread someone was asking about longevity of the 6.4 with a tuner so did a a search and didn't really find much so i thought i'd bring this thread back from the dead to find out what kinda mileage people have put on their tuned trucks. i'm at 51k total and have been tuned for about the last 15k miles on the 210 tune no problems! occasionally run stock to let the erg cycle but other than that it's on the 210.

i would say that the power increase would not cause any issues as long as your not dogging the truck 24/7. Driving normally your not going to use the full power that the higher horsepower tune allows for.
I personally would think that the truck will last longer on the 275 tune, because your keeping fuel out of the oil and removing a big restriction in the exhaust. |
