Elite Downpipe Installed!!!
Got my Elite downpipe on today. All the hard work was done at Cobb's Diesel Performance. Thanks to John and uga33 we got it done. The stocker is a pain in the as$ and is one of the heaviest, but shortest pieces of exhaust pipe I have ever held.
As far as performance gains, there might have been a slight drop in EGT's. The big thing is boost. I was running the latest 310 tune that Matt sent me 2 days ago. On the way to John's I saw a max psi at around 45-47 psi. On the way back with the Elite downpipe on the truck I saw 52-55 psi on the interstate. So there is definitely something to gain there. Spool up is also much better. We also noticed a change in exhaust sound, but this could also have a lot to do with the 6" stack that is now on the truck. It does have a throatier sound at idle I must say. All in all I am very happy with the purchase, just gotta be careful on the boost. |

We will have some videos after the sled pull Saturday for sure!! And never try to put an aftermarket exhaust on a truck with a Kelderman lift without the assistant of a certified diesel exhaust technician!! Good lord Jeff I may have to go see the chiropractor! Truck did sound awesome though going up Main St. in Cartersville tonight

How did you guys end up getting the stock down pipe out? Did you cut it or were you able to slide it out some how?

Do you get better MPG since there is better air flow?

No, we were crunched for time working on 3 trucks at once, and there isn't much to the install other can cutting the stock one out. Once the stock one was out it was easy from there.

I didn't really pay attention all that much. The lie-o-meter did go up .4 mpg, but we all know how that thing is. Boost is the big thing that I noticed... |

No prob on the pics, I just find it easier to see what's being said too.
Can we assume since you have less outside thickness of the pipe the truck is louder now too? |
