Can't say for sure what the sct leaves behind electronically but let's say your taking it in for a leak or bad fuel pump or something. You put exhaust, intake, programming back to stock and take it in. Who's going to even look? Or even care? Probably no one.

What if your driving along and a rod goes through the block or a piston melts? How are you going to return it to stock? It could be done if you have all the parts and take it to your house or something. What if your a couple of thousand miles from home. Are you carrying around all of the parts and tools? Can you do it on the side of the road? Can or will they look in the exhaust for oil that came out of the engine and determine it was put on after the fact?

When they tear the motor down what will they find to be the cause? Is it going to have evidence of abuse such as over fuelling or high temperatures? Probably not if you ran it sensibly. On the other hand if you run it hard all the time with a hot tune it will tell on you. If that's the case should you pay to fix it? Definitely.

For your question though I would call SCT directly. If they put it in writing then I would go with that assumption to be true.

The SCT WILL leave a code. P1000 is the code it leaves behind. All you have to do to explain that code is say you un-hooked the batteries. Un-hooking the batteries and re-hooking them will set that same code.

This should get you passed all minor repairs. But if they do major work, IE pulling the heads, its up to the tech to tattle tale on you pretty much.

They all leave that, but it goes away after a certain amount of run time. Its like a reset code..as said you can also un hook your batteries and this code will come up.

My superchips use to throw this code regularily, it can easily be erased using the tuner as you can read and erase codes with most tuners. I had lots of warranty work done with the superchips programmer on and they asked about having a tuner and I told them nope and they did the work. They said they see that code all the time and they just ignore it...the last work done was a new egr valve and housing.

I have not seen any codes with my Livewire yet and have been running it for just over a month now. Only problem i have had with the livewire is that the screen cuts in and out from time to time and it makes a high pitch noise when running. SCT Says it need a new screen and are covering it under warranty...unfortunately i have to pay for shipping one way...which sucks./

This may be true, however, the Ford tech's who worked on my truck have no clue where the pistons are.
