at the end of the pull you could very well be spinning at close to 40.

I say pull twice once and low and once in high and let us know what does better.

There are alot of different techniques for this. I personally shoose hi or low depending on the surface being pulled on.

The times i've pulled it was 4 low. I got up to 3rd gear and it held there for a few seconds then started falling and then i manually downshifted it to 2nd which is the gear i came to a stop in.

Remember, if you start in 4 hi you are already in a way higher gear than if you start in 4 low, and correct me if i'm wrong, you want to get moving fast, therefore you'd want to start with lower gears.

Marty might pull in 4 hi but hes got more money in his engine than we have in both of our trucks combined.

Yes and marty is only slightly above the hp range of a 275 tuned 6.4 which is the truck in question in this thread.

how many pounds are we talking about when the sled is fully loaded

maybe i could hook onto a large tractor out in a feild and have somebody start draggin the brakes on it the further I go as a simulation of an increasing load on loose terrane

Im telling you Jake, every guy I have ever talked to at countless pulls have ran 4hi. 4low is for the lower hp trucks. Theres not a problem with low, but in a 275 6.4 i would run her in high.

depends where you pull, what class and what not. I dont think there is a uniform weight across the country for street trucks. Also the sled weight box moving forward is a big difference compared to pushing harder on tractor brakes.
