It was tacky...not muddy, but not dry at all, there was no dust. I dunno, I am no pro, but 4hi, in D, roll out till the sled started to move then mashing it did pretty well. With less power you very well have to use 4 LO, or even build up a good bit of boost off the line. I would have boosted up of the line, but I really was not interested in breaking anything. Thats why I eased out till it started rolling.

I know the transmission functions differnt when in tow/haul mode

that being said, do I put it in tow/haul or not

i left it off, i didnt want it to hold a gear too long, thats my personal oppinion...

Just try to not tear it up. That's the best outcome. Auto, 4hi roll on out there and let it pull.

Once you become a professional and have a trailer load of spare parts you can always try some other stuff.

We don't know what is on the truck other than Spartan tune.

If it is a stock 250 it's quite possible he could easily break something on the first pull. Especially with the high torque applied in 4 lo.

Maybe his truck is not the same as yours. You do have a 350 and I can tell you that the rear suspension on my 250 is not setup for pulling like that. It can bounce pulling my 5th wheel too hard with stock tuning.
