Actually mine did the same thing today for the first time at 36,500 (bought it at 30,000), I was getting on here to ask you guys about it! Just like you said it was about 30 mph around a turn and then wham it slammed into gear, like a necksnapping slam, did it twice today. After the second time, it got stuck in 3rd gear while accelerating and hit like 3000 rpms to get to 55 when it normally takes about 2000?

So, after my tranny flush they took it for a drive arround the parking lot and monitored the pressures. Everything is in spec and nothing out of the ordinary. Tranny shifts in stock form are not noticeably different with 100,000km's on oil vs the brand spanking new oil. Now that I have new oil I will keep track of mileage and frequency that this occurs in my truck. Perhaps it is related to the oil? ie. as you put more miles on the oil it happens more frequently...likely not, but who knows. All I know is that the complaint is in, my truck has fresh oil and its still under warranty and I will continue to make the complaint when it happens so that if the tranny drops out after my warranty period i can say to the dealership that they new it was just a matter of time. |

Yea my truck used to just do it occasionally on the NEW trans.. Only 7k on it.. I never stopped beating the piss out of it or detuned it tho.. So just friday i noticed the convertor taking longer to lock up under wot and then slipping more sometimes so i started taking it easier but then....... My gf's little brother and his buddies were runnin off at the mouths last night about there friends dodge that was so bad ***.... Long story short i drug that **** backwards about 100ft... then i decided to do it in 4 high and after i drug it again the shifter was sort of stuck and the convertor wouldnt engage..lol its almost like it has a really big stall but slams everytime it takes off and i have to stay on the throtle a little while i stop to get it to down shift.. Oh well i was looking for an excuse to build a real trans anyway. Ford would prolly replace it again but the obviously cant build one that can take abuse..

Torqshift will see a failure of a clutch element and stop using that element.
By clearing the code, you allow the trans to re-engage that element, and cause further damage. Also, by clearing the code, you've made it a pain in the nuts to diagnose. It can take up to SEVEN full drive cycles to set codes in a Torqshift. Changing the filters/fluid won't do anything for this concern, I'm betting. Check with your dealer, your truck may have powertrain warranty. |
