Mine also has this filter setup. Shew.... looks like i'll just take it to Ford and let them deal with it. Don't have time to fool with it if it don't just unsnap, swap filters and go. Sucks!!!

i left mine connected and just unscrewed it from the old filter. No leaks and about 12K miles.
