Fluid Change
Hi
I'm going to change the fluid in my 08 F250 6.4 transmission to Amsoil Fuel efficent fluid. Stock it takes 19 quarts, + 8 more for the Derale Cooling Pan I bought for it. I also want to hook up a Temp Gauge, any preferences, Electric or Mechanical Gauges? How do I drain the Torque Converter? ![]() I cannot find anything on AllDataDiy.com, (yeah, I bought a subscription). Thanks in advance. Gord |

I replaced my fluid with the newest AMsoil replacement. Make sure you get the right stuff. Cost runs about 5 bills plus whatever shop does the vacuum. I may be wrong but this can't be done with gravity alone with the transmission hooked up. Has to be done by a machine designed to vacuum and flush or you defeat the purpose. Hope this helps but probably caused more questions than actual answers.

Thanks for the info, I'll check the local trany shop & see what they will charge me, the AMSoil stuff is expensive, but good stuff. Today my trany filter setup arrived from Dieselsite. Now to try to find an Over the mirror gauge pod.
Thanks again. |
