Title about sums it up, I went to the tractor pulls and signed up to pull but wasn't quite sure on what I was going to do for gears. I started a thread a couple hours before the event but didnt get any good info till it was too late. Long story short I pulled a 40,000 pound sled, 237 feet, in 4x4 high and destroyed my transmission... FML

Also if you like your truck, dont pull at all.
Can you get it fixed under warranty? |
Sure. With a 100% stock truck and good story. |

very sound advice in my opinion

I'm not even going to try for a warranty fix, just gotta hit the road and save up some cash for a suncoast

wow 40,000lbs,
how much is the suncoast? |
So how do you pull a sled?

if you buy a tranny from suncoast it will cost you around $5k plus install. If you have a good tranny guy that can build a solid tranny, then you can buy all of the parts from suncoast and have them installed for a little over $4k. Thats what I have done with my last 3 trucks including my current truck.
