Time for a new trans?

Well I think snow removal and nearly twice the power of stock is taking it's toll on my transmission. A few times from a red light its slipped through first gear until it went to second. Then the next intersection feels fine. I have a bumper to bumper warranty and was wondering whats the best thing to do, get the better rebuild kit and have the dealership do it under warranty or what? Thanks.
