Shifts Horrible. Need some advice.

I have spartan installed in my truck. Stock, it shifted really good. but ever since ive had spartan, the shifts are horrible in it. 1st through 5th is very very hard if im quarter, half or 3/4 throttle. it bangs into gear on every one. now if I feather the throttle and pretend theres an egg in between my foot and throttle it shifts good. but as soon as I get into it a little, it starts shiftin very hard. I tried changin the tunes. went from 250 to 275 and then 310. all acted the same. im use to the shifting in my ol cummins. both cummins I use to own shifted 10 times better then this truck. Need some help. Thanks

did you ever learn the tranny? if you run the 310 alot your gonna want the spartan TCM

Looking for a 6.4 or 6.7 under $40k

I have the spartan TCM (see sig) and i dont the relearn up til 3/4 throttle. Im to worried to do the last part of the relearn.

I just now put it back on the 250 tune and it does shift better. but I still dont think its right that it shifts that hard on the 275 and 310

i loaded spartan 275 2 days ago and same thing shifts were very violent when you get on it so im stickin with 250.

I dont understand it. everyone says how awesome the big tunes are but how the hec do they stand the violent shifts????

The more power the more firm the shift to keep trans from slipping.

I only have an H&S XRT with 40, 80 and 120 tune. I don't like the shifts in 80 or 120 when getting into it. I am done with trying to have a 9000 lb hot rod. I just don't think these stock trannys can take it no matter what people say. Until I have $ to beef up the tranny I am just going to drive mine like a truck that sounds sweet with straight exhaust, a few extra ponies and no regens and be happy with it.
