All,
Here is the deal.
Unit 1: The Box with Matching doors, Felt lined , and drilled to fit. with Door latches.
400.00

Unit #2: the Box (covered) with matching doors ,Drilled and door latches.
this box is a little more tricky in that the definition of "Upholstered"
Right now in the pic they are "Black" Im orking on getting the matching colors for
the Lariat and the King ranch. Cost $550.00 (for the black model)

As for availability. I have 20 units some are plain and only 2 of them are upholstered.
the upholstered units are by request only. (since they are custom) if you want one.
its first come/serve basis.

PM me payment details

This will be my standing deal till I complete the official website then they will be
499/699 respectively. I know this is way out of most peoples reach. But, this is no tupperware box and.. Im going out on a limb to say but Ill say it. I'll bet it's less than half the cost of the Cabelas box and mine yields more room and Yes its AVAILABLE now. unlike the Cabelas

This may seem like lots of $$ I assure you its not for this unit.
My first unit cost me about 100 to 150 in materials AND took me about
12 hours to complete. Although its nice. it not near as nice as this unit in many ways
the fit, weight and useable space....
I made promises to build a killer unit. as far as Im concerned when you see it you will agree I have met that promise

I'll gladly give one to anyone who can build one better and also for less $$.

We all bought SUPERDUTY's not toyotas...

I'm very interested in the plain black plastic box with felt, doors and latches. Could you give me a shipping quote to 59711. Also, do all boxes ship with locking doors?

Thanks,
Adam

in case you want to do some searching my zip is 33684

the doors have a mechanism that locks the door and will not release unless you lit the release mechanism. their is no key... my vendor does have the same mech avail with a key since it takes 2 I dont know if they will be keyed alike. Ill find out tomorrow.

Excellent. Thanks. I would like to be able to lock it so I could store a gun or two in there.

heres the thought process for the door mechanisms,

I decide on the keyless ones for several reasons,
1: no keys no fuss
2: the box is plastic. If your trying to get in the mechanisms wont really stop that they will just get damaged.
3: I was unsure of the keyed alike issue or lost keys issues.

think of it like your door lock. it just keeps the honest people at bay.
the dishonest people are going to do some damage. so better to just let them in..
anyways Ill still get you some keyed ones if you want them.
Ill have an answer tomorrow.

I just re-read all the posts in this thread and I didn't find where you were able to test fit these in the 05-07 crew cabs. Have you found a pre 08 test truck yet? I guess it fitting my 2005 is pretty important . I'm actually pretty excited about getting one if it fits.

Thanks.

I'll take a picture tomorrow afternoon. I'll also take one with the metal foldout thingy taken out. My rear has the 60/40 seat.

I just confirmed that it does fit a '06 F350 lariat style truck
I bet the thing to look for is...
does your truck have the 60/40 rear seat with the fold out thingy.
if so... then it will fit.
But if your rear seat is the full bench.. then NO it will not fit
(Im already working on that model too.)

And, yes I can get the locks. they are keyed the same.
if you want them I will get em. but don't recommend it.
like I said its for the honest people. perhaps kids too?
otherwise once a thief has busted out your window or door lock
then what is another plastic door hinge gonna do?

Just to clarify, do you need to lock it in order for the latches to work? Or could you leave it unlocked and still have the latches work and only lock it if need be?

Thanks,

Adam
