Ok all, as promised. the ultimate under rear seat MOD!!! 1st remove the fold out lead weight under the rear seat. then replace with this unit. custom modded by me. see previous post for pics of uncovered unit. View from behind the psg seat looking back Notice the carpet I sewn in to look like what factory might have been (I Should have remove the seat covers for a better photo) but Im some what lazy. Sive view lookin in from the R/psgr door I placed carpet on the lower section to reduce scuffs from getting in and out (I forgot to replace the hinge cover Dohh.) Another same view with seat in up position Same view Access door removed . I have yet to decide on a door latch, pull,Lock or the sorts. when I decide Ill install it then. Also notice the 2 screws in the box they are the original screws that held the fold out thingy. a better front view. I wanted to use as much vinyl as possible cuz carpet looks cheap. IMHO. I french stiched all the seams. (a Triple stitch) too bad it does not show up on the carpeted side. Both seat in up position and doors installed. also notice the carpeted section to break up the big vinyl section. guess I could have cleaned it up before I took the pics> same view but from the drivers side same view but with some of my new place to hide stuff close up side view. Another close side/frnt view. I think in the end, I ended up with more storage room than expected. now I can stack stuff up to the brim near the front edge of the seat. prior to this, anything near the front edge would have spilled out and most def when hitting the brakes hard. I'm happy with the turn out. and would encourage any one to build the same. Last edited by A8050266 : 12-09-2008 at 01:47 PM. |

In fact in 2 days I built the whole thing. perhaps I would have been done all with the same day But I lacked the Matching vinyl. I use to own a trim shop for 20+ years (closed up shop 10 years ago) But now do freelance IT work and some programming. Thanks for the |

Man, that looks good. I just made a speaker enclosure for my four wheeler using the same method, this is gonna be my next project. Other than the sanding, isn't fiberglass great? Nice seat covers by the way, I could use something like that as well, my dog rolls with me everywhere I go. Nice Job, Joey |

the prices I have gotten to do the plug and drops are crazy. So, I think my plan is to build 10 of these at one time. then divide my time and see where I come out. If I dont do something soon Ill lose interest. I still think I can build them quite cheap (cost of time and mtrls) and sell them and make a few bucks. (at least thats the goal. So Send me your interior color and If I can match it Ill keep one of them custom for you. |
