Upcoming Sirius Travel Link for Navigation Radio

I have read where Sirius is launching a new Travel Link Service mid year that will provide Real Time traffic information, Weather information (radar, maps, forecasts), Fuel Prices, Sports scores etc in real time down to the Ford Navigation System. The service is going to be $3.99 extra a month with an existing Sirius Audio Subscription.

The catch is it says to 2008/2009 models equipped with the 'Next Generation' Navigation System.

My question is: Does a Job 3 F250 with Navigation System being produced now have the 'Next Generation' Navigation system?

I don't want to spend $1800 for the Navigation system if it is not the one that will be able to use this service.

not sure but a safer bet is to get pioneer Z2 way more options and you can get both xm and sirius traffic nav at the same time if you would like. Also make sure theres traffic nav for your location

Is the Pioneer system you are referring to purchases from Ford or from Pioneer?

Thanks.

Does anyone really like the existing Navigation System? I feel I may be disappointed in what it offers as compared with the next generation system.

On the existing system, it is unclear if you can actually 'load and store' the map data for your area in the system to prevent it from constantly have to access the cd in the drive.

The Z2 he is referring to is an aftermarket system, best bet would be to get it from a local stereo shop or Best Buy.

I believe the factory Ford system is built by Pioneer as well.
But from what I have seen, it still doesnt compare to the Z2

The Z2 also has the ability to integrate your iPod, Bluetooth phone, XM and/or Sirius, rear camera and much more. I also have it so that it integrates with my headrest mounted rear entertainment systems.

I'm very glad I went with the Z2 rather then the factory Nav. I was working with Webasto for a couple weeks trying to find integration kits for the features above and nothing was coming up. I even called pioneer to ask about it and they told me they didn't have anything, that I would have to go with something after market but that it still wouldn't integrate seamlessly with the factory Nav.
