disregard i figured it out . all it takes is a very small flat screwdriver in the bottom and alittle upward pressure. the new auto dimming mirror with a thermometer is a nice feature .

What rearview mirror did you wind up buying? I'd like to swap mine out too.

If you don't mind my asking how much did the new mirror with the temp cost?
Did you have to run an additional external temp sensor?

it was very similar to a gentex at half the price. i bought it on ebay for 119.00.it is autodimming with brightness control, antiglare,a temp sensor that mounts onthe front of the truck(mounted it inside the front bumper) used the ford supplied wires that come through the bulkhead for acc. installation, it also has a small icon that lights up when the temp fall below 37 degrees to warn of potential ice, compass seems pretty accurate. easy 3 wire hook up an ignition hot,12volt always hot, and a ground. just go to auto dimming rearview mirror on ebay and you should find it. i forgot the name of the place but it was located in goshen indiana, and i recieved it in one day. hope it helps . i seem to like it alot.

Send a message via AIM to Barchetta
Doesn't your message center have a compass?

On the Lariat, the automatic climate control displays the outside temp and the message center has a compass built into it.
