Floor Well LED's
2008 F250 CC PSD
BACKGROUND: I have two blue LED strip that I'm thinking about mounting above the floor wells. I've searched and searched for EXACTLY what I'm looking to do but can't find anything. I wanted to power these so they come on with the headlights and, specifically, wanted them hooked to the interior dash dimmer so I can adjust the brightness at night. I would like a soft glow but be able to turn them up or down depending on the situation. QUESTION: If I pull the dimmer switch and wire them there, will I have the ability to turn them up or down? If so, which wires? Any help would be welcomed. Thanks in advance. D |

With them being led I wouldn't think they would really dim since they draw such little power anyway

Without getting into some wiring using resistors and the like, I don;t believe you will be able to have dimmable LEDs. My dad and I have had floor lights in every vehicle we've ever had, He used to use the small trailer marker lights installed under the dash and they work great and can be dimmed. I started using the LED strips and haven't looked back. But I never dim my dash lights. The floor lighting isn;t TOO bad as far as brightness but the first two or three times you drive it will be weird if you've never had floor lighting.
I have pics of the interior of my old 05 somewhere on here, I'll try to find the thread or find the pics... Got one: My 2005 with blue led floor lights
