Interior led's
I added led's in my interior, they look pretty good and are much brighter than stock. The problem is they never turn all the way off. Even with all doors shut and driving down the road they are dimmly lit, does any one know why and how to fix it.

I have the same thing in my truck, here's some info from a corvette forum:
Done the interior LED mod. Map lights stay barely lit. - Corvette Forum |

Yeah, the led's use so little power that the little electric there is enough to barely illuminate the led's. I have had mine like this for over half a year with no issues.

Thanks for all the responses; they go out after a few minutes when the truck is off. They bother me when I'm driving down the road and can notice glowing a little bit.

Mine are just barely lit if you look at them. They don't cause any issues with driving at night but mine is a regular cab. That may have an effect on it

Mine don't bother me too much while I'm driving yet. I have only had them in there for a couple weeks. Mine is an 08 though so I don't have that light right beside my head in the middle. If it bugs ya then either go on ebay and some resistors or put a small bulb inline somewhere hidden. That seems to work according to what I have read.

Gotta love the LED's other than this though. They are so much brighter and cleaner light.

Put them in the running boards too. Lights up the outside really nice. I just bought a set for the bed that I'm going to connect to the third brake light so when I unlock the truck or flip the interior light switch, the bed lights will light up too.

Im finally going to do it, I cant handle the plain light inside the cab anymore. After some research, for a Crew cab with sunroof, I will need 2 194 bulbs for the front and 3 578 bulbs for the rear? And to my understanding of the 3 578 bulbs, I can fit a 12 led bulb in the center slot, and 6 led bulbs in the outside slots?
Also I know recon LED's have resistors built in so they go all the way out when the lights are off, but is there any other LED companies that sell LED's with the resistors already built in? Having the slight glow while driving down the road will probably drive me insane, and I dont want to spend the money that recon wants for their bulbs. Let me know if I am on the right path. Thanks. |

I also thought about the third brake light, that would pretty much complete my truck of the plane yellow lights. Is it the same led's or are they different? What is the part number? Also the light under the hood.
