help changing map/dome light
Have a light out up by my rear view mirror. Does that plastic ring snap straight up onto the roof? Don't want to break it pulling it down. I was trying to pull it straight down but it seemed soo stiff

I replaced my cab light bulbs about 3 weeks ago. I pulled mine off by hand but if you aren't comfortable with that, just use a butter knife or fine tipped flat head and the clear plastic will pop right off. Then pull the old bulb out and pop the new one in.

Unless your lights dont look like that, then I have no idea what you mean.

those are the rears. I want to replace the fronts and there is a plastic ring around the two lights. I just didn't know if that ring snaps in? It feels like the thing is going to snap in two with how much tq I'm putting on it

Mine has a sunroof for it has a different style map light up front. I assume the OP does has the same. I would also like to know how this comes off. I haven't tried mine yet as my lights still work but would like to swap them for led lights.

I do have a sunroof. Just had the dealership change it while it was in the shop for something else. I didn't want to break it

Yes, i have a sunroof and it has the same one you are talking about with the switch in the center...just take a flat head screw driver in their and pry it straight down. it will pop off. I was the same why nervous about breaking it but it worked just fine.
