AM/FM stereo single CD sound system removal

I recently aquired an 08 f350 XLT with the AM/FM stereo single CD/sound system & it ate a CD (Bad Company Live no less), anyone know how to remove the unit?

Thanks in advance. Jim

remove the AUX port cover and the ashtray ....there is a couple T20 or they might be T15 torx bolts.. that holds the carrier panel for the A/C controls and vents( it just clips into the dash top and around that head unit, gotta pull kind hard to get them out) then its just a couple electrical connectors to get that panel to swing down far enough to get to the head unit mount bolts(4)..... I have an extra Single CD head unit thats taking up garage space if you want it.... let me know.... I can help more if you need it....

Good Luck

Carl, thanks for the response, I will give it a go this week (retired with nothing planned till the weekend).
I just may take you up on the replacement CD player after I find out what is going on with this one. PM sent.
Again, I appreciate it.

Got to the point where you mention "that holds the carrier panel for the A/C controls and vents( it just clips into the dash top and around that head unit, gotta pull kind hard to get them out)" pretty cut & dry till I try to yank it down.

How exactly do ya pull it out? Out then down, it seems that the vents or clips at the top (which I can't see) are holding it from coming out?

I finally got it!!! I took a break for lunch then went back at it, had to pry the top part to get it to pop out. It is definatly hosed up & will not eject the CD (found another one in there below mine that it ate also).
