Question about fitting this older sub box into a new truck behind seat

I recently bought a box for a single slim line ten from a guy (used obviously). I have an 08 and this box is from an 06. I assumed it was pretty close in size so bought it from him. I got a rockford fosgate PS3 slim sub for it already and have a 600 watt MTX amp ready to go. He said he had it custom built at cartoys. However, when I look behind the rear passenger seat it looks like the box might be about 2 or 3" too wide. I don't have the exact width of the box on me right now but center seatbelt tower seems to be in the way. Not sure if there is room to trim some of that plastic housing away or should I try and cut the box down a little?

Option C: Get the right box for your truck. Trying to save a buck or two got you.
