SCT Livewire mounting options
So the stupid window mount that comes with the programmer has already broken on me and I'm not even through the setup yet. Which I guess is whatever because it was impossible to mount that thing so it wasn't obnoxiously in the way anyways. So aside from the $80 pod that mounts above the vent, is there any other simple options to mount this thing at a reasonable cost? I have yet to come across anything and I really don't feel like letting this big thing swing all over the place while I drive.

I was looking for a mount also and found I had 1 all along. Its made by Scosche. I bought it as a cell phone holder till I broke one of the arms that holds the phone. I took the head off the unit and use the suction cup and flex arm. the end of the mount matches the SCT livewire. The Scosche brand is sold allot of places including Walmart in the auto section. This is the one I use Walmart.com: Scosche Mobile Windshield and Vent Mount Kit: GPS & Navigation

Nice. Looks like there are a couple that might work pretty well.

The way I mounted mine is. I have a king ranch with a consule. I placed a disc with double sided tape that came with a gps unit. The disk gives the suction cup something to attach to. I placed the disk on the passenger side of the console. I positioned everything so that the SCT is by the cup holders. This puts it out of sight and the sun.

Here is a custom mount that a friend and I made at his shop. It's an awesome location. Out of the way yet still within view if you need it. If you don't use your ashtry then you lose nothing with this option.
Let me know if you need would like one we can make more. It's stainless steel and requires no permenant mods to the truck. Thanks, Jon |

I agree completely... Sell the Livewire and buy and Insight CTS for monitoring and the SF3 or X3 for programming.
