Homelink Install
So I figured I would be somewhat productive on my last day off from work. My rolling code homelink came in the mail yesterday so I thought I would install it.
I got caught up in while doing the work but I used the directions here It took me about 2 hours because the leads I used were too small and did not make contact in the plug. It is a wierd connection that cuts the insulation as you slide the lead down into the clip. If the wire is too small of a gauge it will not make contact inside the insulation. Here are the installed pics and it took me about 15 min to program both of my garage doors. ![]() ![]() I guessed on the color and got it right. It was listed as just grey. There is also a light grey but I think that would have been too light. Dik |

This is the one option my truck doesn't have (not even sure if it is an option or not) but would really like it. Looked at getting a rearview mirror with homelink in it but it was $1000 for the bluetooth, rearview camera LCD, and homelink. Just wondering where you bought the visor.
Thanks. |

I just realized I put this in the wrong section this is no an 07. Having said that it should work on the 08s also.
The visor is the factory one. Underneath the fabric there is a template to cut out that allows any homelink unit to snap in. I wired mine off of the power leads for the vanity mirror lighting. Two leads and follow the programing instructions out of my wifes Mountaineer owners manual and everything works great. I paid $25 shipped for the homelink module. Dik P.S. If the mods want to move this it would be great
