Removal of overhead light "console"

OK, the heat down here in Florida got to my front map light/power moonroof housing/console and the trim ring has parted ways with the rest. The bare lights and switch connector is still in the roof/headliner and I am not sure how it is attached. It is sort of loose and looks like the headliner is what is holding it up there. Does the headliner need to be dropped to get it out? Gotta buy the complete assembly as Ford does not just service/sell the trim ring itself from what I have determined.
