Never heard of them or it either, looked at their site and judging by its size, the passenger foot well or on the firewall behind the glovebox.

Here is a link to the system I am talking about. They are pretty handy units when you spend alot of time in little to no cell service areas. They work with all types of cell phones except nextel. Generally they will boost your signal at least 2 bars on average where before you may have had one bar or no service at all.
Cell Phone Antennas and Cell Phone Boosters at Wilson Electronics Here is a pic where I ended up mounting my intenna inside the vehicle. It is on the support between the front and back doors, above the seatbelt.

Curious how this works out for ya, we had Nextel come and install a "system booster" in our new building since we do all of our dispatch from there, and its awesome, there used to be one bar and it faded out sometimes, now 4 or 5 and clear as can be.
Wonder is someone makes a truck booster from the Nextel?? |

They work quite well. I know several people with the same system. The hard wired system works even better but then you have to deal with cords all over the truck. As for nextel boosters, they are available but the only problem with them is they only work with nextel vs all the other amps that work with ALL the cell phones except nextel.

I have the Wilson booster. I haven't put it in this truck yet but I had it in my 08 and 09. I mounted my amp under the dash and hard wired it to the upfitter switch. Then I put the internal antenna underneath my steering wheel. I pulled the bottom piece of the dash off and zip tied the antenna directly under the steering wheel. It worked out great. The only thing that you could see was about two inches of wires coming out the door for the external antenna.

I have been told by a couple installers that the more direct the waves are towards the phone the better that the booster works. That is the only reason I mounted it up top where I did vs down under my steering wheel like you did robertc82.
