Dome/map light/sunroof control removal?

How does one remove the dome/map light/sunroof control from the headliner intelligently?

I want to tap the sunroof control on my '08 for a Valentine 1, since I want a ignition hot.

Tried to work it free, but before I try too hard and break something, any tips would be appreciated.

It just pops off. You need to just use a little elbow grease! Try to get it in the middle not on the sides.
