Pre turbo Exhaust leak (Whistle)

does anyone else have this going on ? whistles like a tea kettle and you can smell it in the cab? Dealer says its not covered from the 100,000 mile warranty because its a component.....it really pisses me off its not like i have 1300 dollars laying around to give to ford because they couldn't get it right the first time...it makes me wanna drive over a row of cars at the dealer and tell them that i was high on all the diesel fumes that fill my cab

I dont see how it would not be covered. Exhaust leak, that would be a smog problem. Smog parts are 100,000 miles right?

Well i found a tsb on it...does that mean they will repair it ?

I had an enhaust leak which caused fumes inside the truck. Had it replaced under a TSB but I don't have the TSB paperwork because my truck is at the dealer for a loud whistle under boost. They have to pull the cab to fix because the problem is either the exhaust downpipe(s) or the gaskit between the low and high pressure turbos. I will keep you posted when I get my truck back if I don't forget so please remind me.

Ya keep me posted! i think mine is leaking through a small piece of stainless steel flex but i really hope ford will fix it!! Thanks!

Just picked my truck up a couple hours ago. Turns out my intercooler had a hole in it from a rock or something. The dealer told me it wasn't covered under warranty but since my truck sat at the dealership for almost two weeks, they replaced the IC with a brand new unit. I asked how much would it cost if I had to pay and the service manager told me around $900.

I had my air cooler changed under TSB 082501. It was free because of the 100k diesel engine warranty and the exhaust warranty.

The exhaust leak would be covered for 100k under the exhaust warranty.
