outta warranty??wtf???

got an 08 350 with the 6.4 of course. well at about 3,000 miles the radiator started leaking.the dealer said it was a common problem with these trucks so they replaced it under warrany,now at 88,000 miles the same thing.leaking from the same spot. dealer says warranty ran out at 12,000 miles and he wants $1,300 to repair it. i think it's total BS. any opinions or help?

I had to get my radiator replaced in mine about a week or so ago, what they told me is its a fittin has to be replaced and if it aint replaced with right one it will keep spliiting radiator. I dont know how long ago its been since you got it fixed the first time but the new fitting should take care of your problem. But its BS that they want claim it on warrenty considering its there problem with truck.

while the dealer is correct that you are out of warranty(60k) you can call ford customer service and see what they'll do, considering the problem is widely known

i have a call into customer care right now as the dealer that put the rad in back in nov. said no as well..

I just purchased my 08 F350 with just over 60k miles and noticed this past weekend that I had a radiator leak. I took the truck to my local dealer yesterday and was initially told that it would not be coverered under warranty as it is only covered under the 3 year/36k mile warranty, but when I continued to question them why it was not covered as it was obviously a manufacturer defect, they finally agreed to cover the repair under warranty. I just picked it up this evening and have a new radiator at no charge.

What dealer did you end up taking it too? I bought my truck in Baton Rouge, from a dealer I know nothing about and wonder how they're gonna act towards repairs and mods, so always looking for people with good experiences.
