Almost every six four I've seen with faggy injectors in it has caused a base engine failure (burnt piston, shortened con rod, etc.)
This was an old post but I guess I never really gave the end outcome. After pulling the pan I found that all eight rods were bent and the #2 cylinder was scored to badly to be repaired so it got a new engine in it.
Right now I have my second engine swap on one of these in my bay. It was the same thing all eight rods bent and #2 stuck open but this time it also damaged a exhaust valve.
I also talked with the mech at the bus company near us and he said I will have two more coming in this week with the same knock.
For the most part 90% of these engines have been giving us no problem but the rest have been getting new engines at 10-15k. Im starting to loose faith in this engine.
Certified International Tech unfortunatly specializing in the VT365(6.0 power stroke) engine. I'm here to help those people(as much as I can) that are lucky enough to have this in a light duty and not a medium duty truck.
