Ford can't find oil leak!
Had my truck in to dealership 3 times now for this oil leaking from somewhere, they keep telling me to drive it more because they cannot spot where its coming from, I looked again myself today with a video snake and there is oil all along the top side of my oil pan all the way from the tranny to the front crank on my drivers side.
Should I try a new dealer or what? |

Did they add any dye so after it drips more they can hit it with the black light and track it down?

yup hit it with dye the first time I had it in

Yeah, i might try a different dealer. I am not too familiar with the 6.4 yet, so i am not sure of any common leaks on these yet.

Take your high tech equipment in next trip and tell them: SPEND QUALITY CASH ON EQUIPMENT THAT SHOWS LEAKS
Maybe time to see another dealer

I agree go to another dealer. My oil leak was the dipstick tube and it was kinda easy to figure out cause it fell off! Its funny on the service order it says they put the dye in the oil. You would think that they could have seen the oil leak withoiut the dye

there was a bulletin about the dipsticks leaking at the o-ring on the bottom at the pan, if its along the top of the pan on drivers side that would be my guess

New dealership is telling me it's the dipstick o-ring seal. So hopefully that's all it is.
