Rear main seal replacement

I just pulled my trans to install a new clutch and downpipe and my rear main seal is just starting to weep oil. How do I remove the old seal without damaging the crank? Are there any tricks for this or for installing the new one? I'm trying to borrow a seal install tool but not sure if the shop has the right one yet. Thanks for any help.

a couple small self tapping screw and a rolling head prybar is usually enough to get the seal out. I get to use the installing tool so I really don't have any tips for getting the new one in, make sure you get the wear sleeve on though.

Thanks for the reply, I totally forgot about this rotunda kit my buddy gave me. Rear seal is out and I'm going to wait till I have flywheel bolts before I install rear cover and seal. Rear main seal replacement-imageuploadedbyag-free1409599695.133455.jpg
