Repeat Injector Failures

Need some help guys....#6 injector keeps experiencing electrical failure after 100 miles or so. Installed DPF delete and SCT 1.22 and ran problem free for over 1500 miles when first #6 injector failed. Dealership replaced the PCM per Ford's instructions before replacing the injector, which cured the issue for about 100 miles, then the next #6 injector failed. Got it replaced again, ran fine for 100 miles now the third #6 injector has failed. The injectors have all failed electrically, not mechanically. The worst part is that when the injectors fail, it derates to 2250 and with 4.88's that's only good for 60mph. Unfortunately, I'm 300 miles from home with an 18,000 toy hauler to pull home on 7 cylinders. Couldn't get anyone in Tulsa to replace an injector on Saturday.

Looking for some opinions here. I just don't see how the SCT tune could have anything to do with a repeat injector failure on the same hole. The same dealership replaced the injector the first two times and they had the injectors in stock. I'm thinking maybe a bad batch of injectors? I'm completely frustrated with this thing and I'm about to return it to stock and sell it. Anyone interested?

Do 6.4s have FICMs?

On another forum they were discussing injector voltage vs FICMs.

Fuel Injector Control Module. They control and send the power to injectors on the 6.0s. A performance shop was trying to figure out why some trucks have more injector failures than others and they think it is due to low voltage being sent by the FICM.

Not sure if this could be possible on the 6.4

Sounds like a possibility if 6.4's have one. What concerns me is that I had no injector problems for 18,000 miles, then I delete the DPF and the problem pops up.

One of the earlier TSB's was about faulty injectors, I have all the TSB's at my home PC but not on this computer. Check this out and perhaps call your dealer to see if its even remotely related.

Yet again!

Dropped her off at the dealership again today for failed #6 injector, sixth time!!! I wish they would get this thing figured out. The sixth one failed with the truck completely back to stock, so I know now it had nothing to do with SCT.

I dont think chips or programmers are as hard on things as they would like us to think,If these engines werent made to produce more power then they wouldnt, no chip or programmer would make a difference. There are some issues with the 6.4 but I'm confident thet will fix em.

Thinking about it now that it is back to stock, but I've got some other mods I'd have to pull off, and I love the truck, other than the engine!
