Hey when your truck drops an injector does it make any kind of different sound or does the engine run rough? If it makes any kind of sound what does it sound like? Thanks man

The check engine light does not come on until the first time you cycle the key off and re-start it, then it logs same code every time, P0206, electrical fault #6 injector. When the injector fails, it is very obvious. You get a terrible engine vibration, especially in overdrive, and it will only turn 2250rpm's even before the check engine light is on.

I see, but there isn't any kind of strange thumping or loping noises coming from the motor?

No. No thumping, no smoke, just a dead miss and a heck of a vibration in overdrive, especially under 1700rpm's.

Complete failure vs. failing injector will act differently and it depends on what has failed.

Complete failure. No slight miss at first or intermittent miss, just a complete dead hole, running on seven cylinders.

Well, it's been two months since the #6 injector was replaced again, and this time they replaced the harness also. It has run over 1000 miles now without any issues, so I think they've got it this time. The tech showed me where the connector was not tight on one of the injector terminals. He was pretty sure that was the issue, and it appears he was right.
