This isn't my truck but mine sounds just like it. I never heard the noise till I had it straight piped and like a dummy it being my first diesel I didn't know about the dpf on cause I didn't do my research at all I drove 10 miles with it pouring white smoke till I got home when I got home I went ahead and changed my oil thinking maybe I could see something but I didn't. It only starts ticking once it is warmed up any ideas it doesn't drive no different

Ford says it's normal.

There's a Tsb for it, I will dig it up later.

Mine has done this twice both times were after 8+hr trip. Only noticed the last time I stopped and let my truck idle. The first time I shut it off and didn't do it for a month. The second time I noticed the same thing and when I brought the rpms up it stopped when I isles it back down it did it. Shut the truck off and started the next day hasn't done it since. Also on those trips it wasn't doing it when I pulled over for diesel. I've done the same trip over 50 times the ticking was very random and sounded exactly like in the video. Its different then the change oil tick. I wouldn't worry about it there are tons that do it all the time. A guy I work with his does it 90% of the time for the last 100k. Other then it being annoying I wouldn't worry.

I hear ya man. I still think its not normal but I don't think its anything to worry about. Like I said mine only did it twice and it was extremely annoying
