p0472 exhaust back pressure sensor?

Exhaust back pressure sensor faulty? Runs great sometimes...but then feels as if it's not producing enough boost..
Where is this sensor located?

Driver's side of the engine, on top of a 8-10" wavy stainless steel tube that runs down to the pipe that feeds the lower EGR cooler.

It's not very big. It's maybe a little over an inch in diameter at it's biggest point, and a couple inches long.
