6.4 head gasket replacement + unknown

6.4 came to my shop leaking coolant out ds head gasket. tore down to find 2 cracked heads after manga flux. then a weird bonus on #1 cyl wall. looks like a wave of bubbles of foam exhaust half of wall about 1 inch down thin just above random little bubble here there all look and feel like part of cylinder but no crosshatch visible through it. anyone?

Are you saying that bubbles are coming out in the cylinder wall? If so you have a crack in the block. Thats happened a few times to people.

6.4 bubble wave in #1cyl

it is what appers to me like its imbeded or etched into cylinder wall from blow by or combustion. not bubbling out like a leak or crack kind of looks like water pump housing when it cavitates but no material removed and you cant feel it with your finger plus its in the steel inside the clinder. i gona have to post a pic its a weird one
