Stalling problem

Good day all. The wife took my truck to work today and while driving on a freeway, the truck stalled twice. It started right away and she made it to work and home again later in the day. She says it died instantly with no warning. I can't say for sure if smoke was coming out the back. I have reason to believe it may have been in regen at the time and it has been cold here. I'm thinking sticking EGR valve but I drove for a while tonight to check it out and everything is as normal. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Would it turn over but not fire? Would it not even turn over?

It stalled twice in only a couple minutes but started right away in both instances. I wasn't driving so I don't have a lot of other details. I couldn't recreate the problem though. Weird.
