Interesting post. Been noticing little take off power for some time,
just figured was the truck. You can mash the pedal at take off and
it will eventually get going. Just dont pull out in front of someone
and need to get moving fast

I just had the reflash done and it went into regen on the ride home and there was no message that it is in regen. My truck is flat below 2200 rpm's then it takes off , if anyone thinks there is zero turbo lag with this truck there wrong Julian said it earlier ALL turbo diesels have some lag (some more then others) if you use a tuner it will mitigate the problem some.

I have a spartan dd but with the new reflash the stradegy code is totally different and Matt dosen't know if the firmware will read it correctly. So if your thinking of doing the reflash I would wait until it is verified that it will read correctly.

It displays only for a few seconds when the regen first starts... so it's real easy to miss.

When you suspect it is in regen (which is very easy for me to tell due to the 'swoosh' sound coming from the turbo wastegate?), you can cycle thru the dash to the 'system check'. Hold that down, and then cycle thru the system check and it will eventually get to the 'cleaning exhaust filter' message.

Our MPG is definetely up. Our regular cab/3.73 axle/4x4/auto city driving only averaged 11.6mpg hand calc since sept 2007. We've already gone thru 4 tanks (38 gallon tank) and we've gotten 15.2, 15.0, 14.9, and 14.6 hand calc.

Thought is was normal too, and was disappointed in the turbo lag. Is there a way to start an active regen?

There is another thread about this being caused by throttle delay... basically Ford designed it this way to produce less smoke from take off with the DPF. It is VERY annoying we need a solution to delete this too. Come on SCT and Spartan figure this one out
