2008 f250 6.4L

New to the powerstroke.org community so ill start by saying hey and thanks for any info.

But here is the problem got a 2008 F250 6.4 twin turbo woth 138, 000 on her and when you first crank it the is a squealing screetch type noise coming from driver side engine bay "around the turbo" about a quater mile down the road it clears up and goes away. There's no power or boost pressure lost. Thinking its the turbo but not sure thanks for any advice ahead of time.

Jason

I'm also new to the community. I have a 2008 f250 super duty. I drained the water separator and forgot to close it. I drove about a mile down the road and the truck died. How do I purge the fuel system??? HELP??

The squeak might be your idler pulley.

To purge the fuel system of air, turn the key to the run position and keep it there for a minute or so until the system is pressurized and the fuel pump stops. Repeat 5-6 or 8 times. That should do it. There's also a bleeder valve on the fuel cooler that you could bleed the system with while the fuel pump is building pressure.

Hi Jason. I am afraid you got a bad Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT). its bearings got dry. it wont interfere with turbo perform, also that is under Ford Warranty. a way to check it is: access the turbo charger actuator pig tail and disconnect it then rev the engine if the noise is gone.. there it is... if not dismiss my comment.
