Radiator almost empty!!

Well, I took my truck in to have some basic warranty stuff performed since by truck was purchased used. Anyway, the guy that is doing the work happens to be a good friend of mine. He explained, when I dropped it off, that he was also going to replace the radiator since the early build have problems with leaking. He didn't go into any further detail at the time. Anyway, he called me today and said that he was glad that I'd gotten the truck in when I did because the radiator WAS leaking was terribly low on coolant! I'll get the specifics when I have an opportunity to speak to him at length, but until then, is anyone aware of this apparently known problem?

Yup, there was something wrong with the crimps on the drive side.....it should have been leaking right under the driver side front frame rail....no biggie.....just as long as you didn't out of coolant, buts nothing a new radiator can't fix. I had mine done and we are still good to go

Still waiting for my job 1 to leak, checking the coolant once a week for level. How many miles before they start to puke? I only have 1700 on her as of today. Tim

That sucks, sorry to hear that....mine was doing the same thing, only leaking every once and a while and the dealer tried to tell me it was anything from AC run off to just grease .........so I took Marc's advice and just waited till it got worse and it finally did and there was no question that it was leaking

Mine was leaking and I told them about what I had read on here. They said it was the coolant reservoir. I said its coming from the bottom drivers side of the radiator, they said no. Anyways got the reservoir replaced today, she's good to go they said, drove it 15 miles to home and hey what do you know leaky leaky from the same spot. Going back to get a new radiator Monday. They don't even drive them after they work on them. How do you tell if the problem is fixed? Gotta love them dealerships.(yeah right)
