pcm & tcm cooked after efi live?

So here is the story.
Last week i bought an 08 f350 lariat. Good price. Has dpf delete, cai, exhaust, efilive, all around air bags, and duratracs, inside is clean.
Anyway, the truck came out of edmonton alberta and had the efilive on it. i wanted to get rid of that and put an h&s in, so i brought it to a local shop and they sent the truck to a local ford dealer to get the pcm and tcm reflashed to stock.
apparently the pcm and tcm are cooked and all the stock files are gone off of them, i guess the guy who did the efilive totally rewrote them?
how does this sound? im not to familiar with efilive and how it can mess things up, but the local shop owner says that he has seen alot of trucks come in efilive and they are messed.
is it possible that the pcm and tcm are totally cooked and cant be dealt with?
thanks for your help/advice!

They need to do a 'blank path reprogram' on the PCM, and it will load the proper TCM file as well. They need to program the original strategy using the tear tag on the truck's PCM.

I was unaware that EFILive supported the Powerstroke.

ok, i will look into that. maybe its not necessarily efilive i guess. something like it though.
my local shop said that the dealership said the pcm was 'burnt up' inside. not sure if they meant it was wrecked physically or if they were talking about the fact that it was wrecked according to there programing.

EFI Live isn't for the Powerstroke platform. They are for Cummins and Duramax's only at least last I knew they were.

Turns out PCM was tuned by a spartan tuner. I did not have the handheld or anything to send it back to stock and bought it from a dealer so I didn't know the original owner. So I bought a new PCM and tcm and put the h&s on.
Turns out my tranny was cooked also, they think probably becuase the tune was running crazy high line pressures.
Spartan is dumb for the fact that there aren't the stock files still on the PCM.

Any of these new programmers like spartan, SCT, H&S etc save a copy of the stock file on the programmer and reflash the PCM and TCM with a new file that overwrites the stock file on the computer. How can it save a file on something that there is only room for one?
