Air Cleaner
I have an '08 6.4l I would like to put an afe stage 2 cold air kit , but I hear it activates check engine codes. Anyone know if the code will derate the engine or cause problems with performance? Or do you just inore the light????

I just installed mine 2 weeks ago. I got the code 3-4 times over the first 24 hours (I reset it each time) and I have not seen it again since. I saw at least one other person had a similar experience but I have also seen a post saying the CEL is staying on for another. I am pretty happy with mine. I'd give it a shot

I hooked mine up on monday by friday the engine light was on. I just got back from the Ford shop they said that my MAP sensor and my partical filter might be cooked. I have to put the stock box back on so they can run the codes again. I was told that the aftermarket air box voids all warrentys, luckily my dealer is cool and is allowing me to put the stock back on otherwise I would have to pay $80 just to get the truck scanned not to mention what it would cost for the partical filter. All because Ford messed up the air box design and you can not drive the truck in blowing snow or driving rain with out plugging the stock filter.
I now own a 50K truck that can only be driven on nice sunny days
