My first diesel, just my luck

Ok, where to start? I have been noticing the white/blue smoke during the regen cycle. This, in my opinion is a safety hazzard. I can't see people behind me, and I know they can't see anything either. When I first got it the mpg was about 12-13 empty. One day there was a stock 08 Ram behind me, right on my bumper, and I decided to floor it up a hill. Keep in mind I had about 800 miles on it. The truck took off several car lengths away from the Dodge right away, and I could tell he tried to keep up, but couldn't. Anyway, I got on the main highway and my mpg couldn't get any better than 10. It has taken 9,000 more miles to get up to the 14-15 range. I get an average of 10-12 hauling 14,000lbs out of the mountains of West Virginia. The truck runs great. Just lately I have been noticing the oil level rising. That finally made me come on here, register, and talk about it. I am horrified with what could be wrong with it. 40,000+ is a bit much for a 24 year old to be shelling out. Then if the thing breaks down, I don't even want to think about. it. I read about the rad leaking. My first diesel, and of course I had to go with something that will give me this kind of trouble. Well, tomorrow it goes in to check out what is wrong, and get an oil change. Thank you everyone for posting their problems, so I know what to say to the dealer. They never heard of this problem, at least that is what they are telling me. I don't care what anyone says, fuel in the oil, in any amount, is a really bad thing.

Thanks,
Brad

fromwhat I understand or not..The oil level rising is fuel in the oil and that is due to th regn mode...I beleive the ones that have regn delete are not having this trouble....

i noticed my oil level had raised about 3/4 oh an inch on the stick in about 5000 miles. my dealer thought at first it could possibly be aleaking injector but we did an oil analysis firstand everything came back great. no fuel in the oil the soot levels and contaminant levels (antifreeze, metal shavings whatever else could end up in there) were all normal. they have no idea why the level went up and they did the oil change.

Yeah, turns out everything is ok. Then I did have a chirping sound on cold starts, and when I tow up 9% grades out of WV all kinds of squealing goes on in second gear at about 3,000 rpm. There was a TSB 07 23 09, which replaces the idler pulley. No more chirp at cold start. Haven't foound out if the same squealing sound goes on during towing. Try this link for other TSB out there for the new 6.4L. 6.4 PowerStroke bulletins
